Lancôme unveils a collection of perfect rose petal fragrances

Everything is coming up roses at Lancôme.

The French beauty company has introduced Absolue Les Parfums, a collection of 11 haute couture fragrances featuring the most romantic of flowers. From “6 AM Rose,” with accords of sun-kissed rose and lily of the valley, to “Rose or Die,” an enchanting blend of black tea and rose notes, the line explores the many facets of Shakespeare. said bloom.

The inspiration for the fragrances is rooted in LancÃ’me’s Domaine de la Rose, a leafy estate in Grasse, France, the perfume capital of the world. The company bought the property in 2020 and Lucie Niney and Thibault Marca of NeM Architectes in Paris renovated its famous pink house.

The blush-colored, eco-friendly palace hosts seminars, training sessions and events celebrating the company’s fragrance heritage. As for the gardens, gardeners cultivate organically cultivated fields of jasmine, tuberose, iris and several thousand Centifolia rose bushes.

Lancôme grows the Centifolia rose used in the new Haute Parfumerie collection at Domaine de la Rose in Grasse, France. The company acquired the 17-hectare property in 2020. launches
The estate’s famous pink house is painted pink, both inside and out.

The estate is open to the public on the second Wednesday of every month. A guided visit lasts one hour and 15 minutes and is free of charge.

Domaina serves as a kind of olfactory laboratory. In fact, the Absolue collection contains two new patented extracts from the Centifolia rose, LancÃ’me’s signature flower.

The first was created without an extracting solvent, so it retains the rich olfactory properties of the ingredient. The second, a natural absolute, highlights new olfactory aspects of the rose.

The scents were formulated by master perfumers and each celebration was raised in a completely modern way, capturing new mood or unexpected comfort in different weather and time of day. “1001 Roses,” for example, evokes a rose just picked from a garden on a sunny day. Perfumers Louise Turner and Christine Nagel used Centifolia and Damascena roses, accented with a creamy musk accord.

Perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin describes his ethereal confection “Rose in the Moon” as “a hypnotic rose, magnified by the wonderful texture of sandalwood.”

Meanwhile, the sensual essence “I Flamed a Rose” by Daphné Bugey pairs rose from Domaine with patchouli and earthy ambrox, a complex musky and woody note.

Each eau de parfum is packaged in a cylindrical bottle with a gold plaque and priced at $270 per 100ml. The collection joins Lancôme’s other rose fragrances, from La Vie est Belle Rose Extraordinaire and Idôle to Idôle Now, and the house’s rose-infused cosmetics and skincare.

This fall, the bloom is definitely in the pink.
